The Opportunity
As an Optometrist based in the Dunedin store, you will use modern diagnostic equipment and provide tailored eyecare that supports each customer’s lifestyle. The role combines clinical work, product recommendation, and high-quality service in a customer-focused retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out eye examinations for a wide variety of patients, including children, contact lens wearers, and therapeutic cases.
- Recommend lens options that suit each customer’s needs and daily lifestyle.
- Explain lens features, technology, coatings, and add-ons in a clear and confident way.
- Support and guide Graduate Optometrists in how to use technology and advise customers.
- Partner with the Store Manager and Managing Optometrists to improve eyecare revenue, including technology use, labour efficiency, and appropriate Medicare billing.
Technology You Will Use
This position involves working with advanced eyecare equipment such as a retinal camera, visual field analyser, non-contact tonometer, corneal topographer, Optos UWDRS, and OCT.
