Job description
About Pathway Labs
Pathway Labs is developing EchoNext, an AI-powered screening solution that uses routine ECGs to identify structural heart disease earlier, before symptoms appear. The platform is designed to help detect conditions such as heart failure, valve disease, cardiac amyloid, pulmonary hypertension, and related disorders. The company describes itself as a leading cardiac AI team with research published in Nature and experience running the country’s largest cardio AI screening trial. Its work has also been featured by major media outlets.
Role overview
This position is designed for someone who wants broad exposure to how an early-stage company is built. The Operations Lead will work directly with the founders across multiple parts of the business, own important workstreams, and in some cases serve as the primary point of contact.
Key responsibilities
- Lead important workstreams across areas such as partnerships, marketing, reimbursement strategy, and similar business priorities.
- Set up and improve the systems and processes that help a small team operate with structure and clarity.
- Partner closely with the product team so customer feedback stays tightly connected to the product roadmap.
- Coordinate consultants and external service providers supporting finance, operations, and compliance.
- Handle miscellaneous projects that do not fit neatly into a single function.
What the company is looking for
Pathway Labs wants someone who is highly organized, reliable, and able to manage context across different kinds of work. Strong judgment is important, since the role often requires deciding what needs attention now and what can wait without detailed direction. The company also values someone who is comfortable representing the business with senior external stakeholders and can leave a strong, positive impression in meetings. Prior experience in healthcare is preferred, especially with or inside health systems, though it is not mandatory. The ideal candidate is curious about how companies are built, wants to understand the full picture rather than one isolated function, and can be trusted with sensitive information and high-stakes decisions.
Who this role is not for
This role is not a fit for someone who needs a narrowly defined job from the start, prefers to stay away from hands-on operational work, or is simply using the position as a bridge into a different function. It works best for someone excited by the broad, founder-adjacent nature of the role.
Why this opportunity stands out
The team is small, ambitious, and composed of early adopters and creative problem-solvers who hold a high standard for execution. The role reports to a second-time founder with a successful exit, offering a condensed founder-like experience inside a company that already has traction, customers, and a live product. There is also significant room to grow based on the work done during the company’s early stage.
