Job description

About Flyby Robotics

Flyby Robotics develops drones powered by very high-performance GPU computing. The company is building American-made drones that act as open platforms for machine learning, data capture, and autonomous use cases. Its customer base already includes prominent AI teams, critical infrastructure organizations, major U.S. universities, and U.S. military users. The long-term vision is a world where drones capable of trillions of operations per second are deployed at scale across the Western world and create meaningful impact in many industries.

About the Role

This position sits at the center of procurement, supplier coordination, and outbound fulfillment for Flyby Robotics’ drone product. You would partner closely with engineers experienced at Nvidia, NASA JPL, and US Navy NAVAIR to secure inbound parts, manage vendor relationships, and support the logistics required to ship manufactured drones successfully. The role is suited to someone who is motivated by supporting advanced drone production, keeping materials flowing as demand grows, and improving quality, delivery speed, and part costs. Experience in supply chain management is strongly preferred. Short-term travel to vendor sites may be needed to support quality checks and maintain supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of sourcing mechanical, electronic, and PCB components so materials are cost-effective, dependable, and aligned with the production plan.
  • Handle supplier management work such as RFIs, RFQs, negotiation, and the completion of vendor contracts.
  • Build cost models and analyze data to support sourcing strategies that remain viable over the long term.
  • Work closely with design and manufacturing engineers to confirm that purchased parts meet both R&D needs and scaled production requirements.
  • Run regular supplier reviews aimed at improving pricing, quality standards, and on-time delivery performance.
  • Maintain strong communication with finance and engineering stakeholders to support productive, lasting supplier partnerships.
  • Keep inventory tracking and forecasting systems current and reliable.
  • Coordinate finished-goods logistics and ensure products are fulfilled successfully.

Core Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and/or Supply Chain Management.
  • At least 3 years of supply chain experience in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success in managing vendors, developing cost models, and negotiating contracts effectively.
  • Strong comfort with data analysis and metrics-based decision-making.
  • Ability to understand technical materials such as wiring diagrams and assembly instructions.
  • Capacity to quickly understand product requirements and use that understanding to improve sourcing and purchasing decisions.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary of $120,000.
  • 0.25% equity through stock options, based on the candidate’s experience.
  • Company holiday schedule and competitive paid time off.
  • Group health insurance coverage through the company.
