Role Summary

The Operational Excellence Engineer at Vantive Castlebar combines hands-on technical execution with strategic leadership to foster continuous improvement in a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing setting. The position focuses on measurable enhancements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost by employing Lean methodologies and data-driven approaches, while nurturing a Lean culture throughout the teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive Lean initiatives such as OMS, Kaizen events, 6S, Value Stream Mapping, and OEE improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste.
• Facilitate structured problem-solving methods, including A3 reports, root cause analysis, and data-based insights.
• Deliver improvements in key performance indicators related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
• Support compliant manufacturing operations within GMP-regulated value streams.
• Manage process improvement projects and assist with new product introductions.
• Coach and mentor teams on Lean principles and continuous improvement techniques.
• Collaborate with production teams to enhance daily operations under pharmaceutical regulations.
• Act as a champion for change, embedding continuous improvement behaviors organization-wide.
• Ensure thorough documentation, change control, and risk management procedures accompany process improvements.
• Lead and participate in improvement initiatives ranging from focused Kaizen actions to multifaceted cross-functional projects.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in manufacturing sectors; pharmaceutical or medical device background preferred.
• Profound knowledge of Lean tools including 6S, Kaizen, and waste elimination strategies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Power BI or similar data visualization tools is beneficial.
• Demonstrated history of effective process improvements and project execution.
• Strong analytical capabilities paired with excellent communication skills.
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification is an advantage.
• Practical technician experience with ambition for progression into an engineering career path.
