Job description

About the role

The Salvation Army Employment Plus is seeking an Ongoing Support Consultant to join its Inclusive Employment Australia team in Logan, Queensland. This position focuses on providing employment support to people with disability, injury, or illness through a program designed to improve access to meaningful work and long-term job retention.

The organisation highlights a values-led, people-focused environment where staff are supported, trusted to do good work, and encouraged to grow. The role is part of a not-for-profit setting that also offers salary packaging and a range of employee wellbeing and lifestyle benefits.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and sustain strong working relationships with participants and employers through in-person, phone, and on-the-job support.
  • Identify barriers that could affect ongoing employment and respond quickly to help keep placements in place.
  • Monitor participants who have been in work for more than 26 weeks and work toward monthly performance targets.
  • Partner with current and prospective employers to understand workforce needs and present suitable participants for additional opportunities.
  • Collect and confirm evidence of employment, including payslips and other supporting documents.
  • Work in a goal-oriented way and consistently aim to meet or exceed KPIs and performance expectations.

What we’re looking for

  • Qualifications in Employment Services, Community Services, or a related field are desirable.
  • Experience in employment services, particularly barrier management, reverse marketing, candidate placement, and post-placement support, will be highly valued.
  • Strong communication skills across multiple channels and with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to solve problems proactively, manage objections, and support people living with disability through workplace barriers.
  • A performance-driven mindset, with evidence of meeting business targets and KPIs through analytical use of data.
  • A valid driver’s licence is essential, as regional travel is required.

What’s on offer

  • Competitive remuneration with not-for-profit salary packaging, including up to $15,900 tax-free plus meal and entertainment benefits.
  • Improved work-life balance, including the option of a 9-day fortnight or an accrued day off every 4 weeks for full-time staff.
  • Thorough on-the-job training, with the opportunity to pursue tertiary study relevant to the position.
  • Discounts on fitness memberships, health insurance, retail purchases, and other partner offers.
  • Leave benefits such as purchased leave, 12 weeks of paid parental leave, and up to 5 days of paid volunteering leave each year.
  • Access to free counselling and wellbeing initiatives designed to support psychosocial health.
  • Potential for long-term employment within Employment Plus and the wider Salvation Army network.
