Job description

Role overview

This position focuses on running card operations with accuracy, speed, and full compliance. The scope covers the complete card journey, from issuing cards through transaction handling, reconciliation, and settlement. The role also supports operational control by following internal procedures and the requirements set by card networks such as Visa and Mastercard.

Key responsibilities

The officer will help maintain smooth day-to-day card processing, ensure financial records remain accurate, and support timely handling of exceptions. A major part of the role is reconciling transactions, managing suspense balances properly, and producing dependable reports that reflect the true operational position.

Qualifications

A first degree is required, ideally in Business Commerce, Economics, Finance, or a closely related discipline.

Experience required

Candidates should bring 2 to 3 years of experience, with at least 2 years of direct, hands-on exposure to card operations.

Skills and knowledge

The role calls for a solid grasp of the card operations lifecycle, including issuance, authorization, clearing, and settlement. Familiarity with Visa and Mastercard operating rules is important, along with experience in reconciliation, suspense account management, card management platforms, and core banking systems. Strong Excel skills, reporting ability, numerical fluency, and analytical thinking are also essential.
