Job description
About the role
An internationally active, people-first organisation with a collaborative way of working is hiring an Office Manager for its Darmstadt location. The site is a compact team of about 30 people and works closely with the larger London hub as well as colleagues across global markets. The company emphasizes a supportive and inclusive workplace where employees can perform well, while maintaining high standards in office operations, employee wellbeing, and day-to-day experience.
What you will do
In this position, you will own the daily running of the Darmstadt office and make sure operations stay organised, efficient, and reliable. The scope is broad and practical, reaching beyond standard office administration into areas such as health and safety, inclusion, and HR support.
You will assist the HR Director with personnel-related matters, maintain time and attendance records, prepare payroll input, and oversee vendor and supplier agreements. The role also includes responsibility for fleet arrangements, rental and parking agreements, and mobile phone contracts.
On the workplace safety side, you will help drive health and safety efforts, including fire safety, first-aid coordination, and required compliance checks. In addition, you will act as the Inclusion Officer for the site.
Other responsibilities include managing office supplies and hardware, arranging meetings and events, supporting onboarding and offboarding, coordinating IT set-ups, handling travel arrangements, assisting with trade fair preparation, and contributing to upcoming office projects, including a planned office relocation.
What they are looking for
The ideal candidate is an experienced Office Manager who can juggle several priorities in a busy environment and comfortably handle a wide-ranging workload. You should be a self-driven professional who takes initiative, works independently, and is eager to keep learning while broadening your responsibilities.
Strong organisational ability and close attention to detail are essential. The role also requires someone who can work well across teams and collaborate effectively with colleagues in different international locations.
Compensation and working arrangement
The salary range for this position is €45,000 to €50,000 per year, depending on experience. A strong benefits package is included, and there may be an opportunity to work from home for up to one day per week after successful completion of probation.
Additional information
The role is based in Darmstadt, Hesse, Germany, and is a full-time onsite position. The organisation is seeking someone who can contribute to a positive and well-run workplace and help support a broad set of operational responsibilities.
