Role overview
The Program Assistant/Nutrition Coordinator supports the daily running of the senior center and helps senior center staff deliver services that are smooth, effective, and high quality. A key part of the role is coordinating the congregate lunch program while making sure all applicable rules and regulations are followed.

Key duties
- Oversee everyday operations across nutrition-related activities while following proper sanitation and food handling standards.
- Support Arbor cafe inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with Allegheny County Health Department and Allegheny County Area Agency on Aging requirements for nutrition services.
- Coordinate volunteers for Arbor Cafe and lunch service.
- Assist with planning and carrying out senior center events and recreational activities.
- Enter daily information into the CoPilot database.
- Provide reception coverage and handle additional coverage needs when assigned.
General expectations
- Represent the organization’s mission and values in daily work.
- Track time and attendance through the applicable HR information and timekeeping systems.
- Attend meetings and training sessions when requested or required.
- Complete other assigned duties as needed.
Required qualifications
- Comfort using Microsoft Outlook and working with a computer, laptop, tablet, and cell phone.
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency is preferred.
- Ability to work well with seniors.
- Strong computer skills and clear verbal and written communication.
- Alignment with the organization’s mission, along with cultural awareness and a collaborative attitude.
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Successful completion of the Allegheny County food certification course.
Working conditions
This role is based at the Vintage location. Some travel to other Familylinks locations may be required for training and meetings.
