About the Organization

One Acre Fund was established in 2006 and supports 5.5 million smallholder farmers in improving farm productivity. Operating across nine African countries that collectively include two-thirds of the continent’s farmers, the organization delivers quality agricultural inputs, tree seedlings, credit, modern agronomy training, and other essential services. On average, this approach helps farmers raise income and asset value on supported land by more than 35% while strengthening long-term resilience. This work is powered by a team of more than 9,000 full-time employees from many different professional and cultural backgrounds.

Role Summary

The Networks Administrator will strengthen network operations by maintaining, improving, and automating network management processes while also looking for opportunities to reduce costs and improve service quality.

Infrastructure and Platform Management

  • Set up and manage IT network environments, including LAN, WAN, network segments, and internet connectivity.
  • Ensure network connectivity remains reliable, resilient, and aligned with information security requirements.
  • Support high-availability network performance.
  • Install, maintain, and support both network hardware and software.
  • Coordinate upgrades and repairs through Country ITO processes and SOPs, and help ensure appropriate CITO training is in place.
  • Keep technical documentation current and accurate.
  • Look for practical ways to improve network operations through automation, lower costs, and other efficiency gains.

Monitoring and Event Management

  • Develop and put in place monitoring, alerting, and threshold settings to spot potential service issues early.
  • Handle network incidents and events from identification through resolution.
  • Assess the impact and importance of incidents, then take the right control actions.
  • Reduce the effect of service disruptions and support incident recovery.
  • Build in network redundancy and backup capabilities.

Service Request Support

  • Resolve Tier 2 and Tier 3 network incidents within agreed service level timelines.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should have a basic grasp of network management standards and device lifecycle principles, along with foundational project management capability.
