Role Overview

The Payroll Lead will be responsible for overseeing the complete payroll delivery and implementation process for designated countries or clusters. This position demands leadership qualities, client-facing abilities, and a deep understanding of payroll processing rules and compliance requirements. The Payroll Lead will ensure smooth payroll operations, successful implementations and migrations, ongoing process enhancements, and high levels of client satisfaction for all countries within their purview. The role involves managing country leads and process experts, and cultivating internal payroll capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end payroll delivery for assigned countries/clusters, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to regulations.
  • Monitor regional payroll operations to guarantee seamless service delivery across all in-scope countries.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to elevate payroll quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
  • Effectively manage payroll exceptions and ensure prompt resolution through a structured governance framework.
  • Maintain and regularly update country-specific payroll compliance documentation in response to evolving regulations.
  • Ensure all payroll processes strictly comply with local statutory requirements and internal control standards.
  • Identify opportunities for automation to minimize manual tasks and enhance process reliability.
  • Lead projects aimed at streamlining workflows, reducing errors, and boosting operational efficiency.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of all country-specific payroll processes, statutory rules, and best practices.
  • Oversee the development and upkeep of knowledge repositories and facilitate effective knowledge sharing among teams.
  • Manage and mentor a team of Country Leads and Process Experts, providing guidance and performance management.
  • Develop in-house payroll processing and auditing capabilities within each country team within six to nine months of operation.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition for hiring country leads and processing experts as needed.
  • Lead ongoing talent development, capability building, and succession planning for the payroll function.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for clients within the region.
  • Cultivate strong client relationships and ensure exceptional client satisfaction through proactive engagement and effective issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders across HR, Compliance, Finance, and Technology to ensure seamless payroll operations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience specifically in Netherlands payroll.
  • A strong grasp of Netherlands country payroll processes, statutory compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of driving automation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • A strong customer focus and the ability to manage complex client environments.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Pune, India. Immediate joiners are preferred.
