Role Overview

This position is for an experienced mortgage processor to support the Consumer Direct team. The processor will work closely with loan originators and customers, helping guide loans smoothly from application through closing while building strong working relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Keep current on loan products, policies, procedures, operating platforms, and any process changes that are introduced.
  • Work with underwriting standards for FNMA, FHLMC, HE loans/HELOCs, FHA, VA, and second-lien transactions.
  • Independently determine income for self-employed borrowers across all relevant income types.
  • Prepare files and coordinate with borrowers so loans are finalized and closed efficiently and on schedule.
  • Stay informed about product updates and broader market shifts.
  • Use automated underwriting systems confidently and effectively.
  • Follow all laws and regulations that apply to mortgage lending.
  • Communicate with borrowers, operations teams, title companies, and other stakeholders to keep the mortgage process moving.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least 2 years of continuous, current experience in mortgage processing is required.
  • Working knowledge of TRID is required.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work both independently and as part of a Consumer Direct team.
  • Experience with LoanSoft or Empower LOS is considered an advantage.
  • Prior use of Salesforce or Total Expert, along with database experience, is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills and comfort with technology are important.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
