Role Overview
Rendr is seeking an experienced Medical Biller to support the Central Billing team. The position calls for hands-on experience across insurance claims billing, follow-up, and collections. It also requires strong communication skills for direct interaction with third-party payers regarding unpaid claims, including denied claims and cases that need appeals. The role focuses on resolving billing issues and handling inquiries related to unpaid claims.
Key Duties
- Handle denied-claim information requests accurately and efficiently through payer portals and outbound calls for commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid insurers.
- Investigate and respond promptly to documentation requests from insurance carriers.
- Prepare and manage appeals for claim denials until they are resolved.
- Review accounts receivable reports each month and follow up on claims pending for more than 60 days.
- Spot and fix insurance billing problems.
- Update patient demographic details and insurance data in the practice management billing system.
- Record all account activity clearly and concisely in the system.
- Follow HIPAA rules and compliance requirements at all times.
- Maintain productivity and quality standards set by management.
- Escalate unusual patterns, payer trends, and reimbursement concerns to management.
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
- At least 2 years of billing experience in an outpatient environment is required.
- Excellent attention to detail is essential.
- Experience in primary care billing is considered an advantage.
- The ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and juggle multiple priorities is important.
- Bilingual ability in English and Chinese is preferred.
