Role overview
Medmark Occupational Healthcare is seeking a Medical Administrator for its busy Cork office. This position sits within an administration team that supports day-to-day medical office operations and patient coordination.
Key duties
- Handle incoming calls and organise appointments.
- Process incoming and outgoing post.
- Manage email enquiries and appointment requests.
- Respond to client requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Prepare letters and document medical notes as needed.
- Type reports and maintain filing systems.
- Coordinate off-site clinic schedules.
- Support physician staff and act on their behalf when required.
- Provide personal assistant support to medical staff.
- Organise referrals and handle billing for patients and third-party payers.
- Keep office files and patient records accurate and up to date.
- Monitor office supplies, anticipate stock needs, place orders, and check deliveries.
- Help ensure office equipment remains operational, including basic troubleshooting, routine upkeep, and arranging repairs when necessary.
- Maintain service quality by following office standards and procedures.
- Take ownership of new and varied requests that help improve the reputation and effectiveness of the physician office.
- Rotate reception coverage with other team members.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by management.
Candidate profile
- Prior experience in a customer-facing role is essential.
- Experience gained in a healthcare setting is an advantage.
- Strong administrative ability and excellent attention to detail are required.
- Good IT competence and confidence using Microsoft Office are important.
- The ideal candidate will be well organised and able to manage several priorities at once.
- A professional, approachable attitude and a strong team focus are expected.
