  • Advise the Medical Director and Vice President of Physician Affairs on doctor performance, professional conduct, and adherence to medical standards.
  • Make sure there is a strong appraisal process for medical staff using performance data such as audit findings and complaints.
  • Ensure doctors’ professional standards and indicators remain aligned with international benchmarks.
  • Work with the Coordinator and HR Manager to address concerns related to conduct and performance through appropriate measures ranging from retraining to dismissal where necessary.
  • Oversee effective clinical audit systems, review results against benchmarks, complete reporting, and support action plans aimed at top-quartile performance.
  • Identify preventable deaths and morbidity cases, ensure corrective action is taken, and help resolve concerns tied to individual clinical practice.
  • Lead implementation of JCI and CBAHI standards for healthcare delivery.
  • Work with the Director of Nursing and Governance to embed governance priorities, especially those related to infection control.
  • Ensure proper arrangements for deceased and bereaved patients and families.
