About the role
Toyota Automated Logistics is seeking a Mechanical Service Technician to support a highly automated meat processing and distribution site in Auckland. In this shift-based position, you will help keep operations safe and efficient by carrying out maintenance, resolving technical issues, and contributing to equipment improvements on advanced automated systems.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance and reactive repairs to keep systems running reliably.
- Investigate equipment faults and restore operation quickly to reduce downtime and disruption.
- Use data and performance insights to spot opportunities for process or equipment improvement.
- Provide strong technical support while following strict hygiene, food safety, and sterile-environment standards.
- Work closely with international teams in a 24/7 shift structure within a temperature-controlled 0°C environment.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate has practical mechanical or industrial maintenance experience, supported by a trade qualification or equivalent hands-on expertise. You should be confident troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and automation-related issues, including PLC systems, and comfortable working in regulated food-grade settings where safety, quality, and compliance are essential.
You will need to communicate well, work effectively with others, and also operate independently when required. A dependable, adaptable, and proactive approach is important, along with the ability to work shifts in cold, physically demanding conditions. You must also be comfortable working at height using full fall-protection equipment.

This role is full-time and based onsite in Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand.
