Job description
Company Overview
Gulf Madhyamam is the first international Indian newspaper to be published at the same time across the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. It has the widest readership among Keralites in the GCC and operates as an extension of the established Malayalam daily Madhyamam. The publication has earned a strong standing with its audience by delivering news quickly and keeping readers in the Gulf informed in time to shape their interests and engagement with current affairs. Its same-day distribution approach changed how news was consumed in the Middle East by removing the long delay in receiving updates from India. The organisation continues to grow its influence through timely, relevant content for its audience and through benchmark events across the GCC and India.
Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site position in Doha, Qatar. The Marketing Executive will help build and strengthen the brand across GCC markets by planning and executing marketing initiatives. The role focuses on understanding audience behaviour, supporting revenue-generating opportunities, and working closely with internal teams to ensure promotional activities are aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will research markets, study audience trends, and identify opportunities to promote advertising packages, digital offerings, and event sponsorships. The role includes coordinating campaigns, assisting sales efforts, preparing marketing collaterals, and partnering with editorial, sales, and distribution functions to keep messaging consistent. The position also involves monitoring performance indicators, managing marketing budgets, and developing strong working relationships with agencies, partners, and community groups to improve market reach.
Qualifications and Skills
Applicants should bring strong capability in marketing and market planning, along with the ability to design and run campaigns across both print and digital channels. Good market research skills are needed to understand audience requirements, competitor activity, and business opportunities in GCC markets. Clear written and spoken communication is important for presenting ideas and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. Sales ability and relationship management skills are also valuable for supporting advertising growth and partnership development. A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related discipline is preferred, though equivalent practical experience is also acceptable. Experience in media, publishing, or advertising in the GCC or comparable markets will be an advantage. Candidates should be comfortable working on site in Doha, managing several priorities, and meeting deadlines in a fast-moving environment. Familiarity with digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and basic analytics will be useful.
Additional Information
This role requires regular on-site presence in Doha, Qatar. The position is intended for someone who can operate in a fast-paced environment, coordinate multiple projects at once, and contribute to both marketing and sales-related objectives.
