  • Build and keep pricing databases current and accurate in coordination with internal teams and external data sources.
  • Help shape pricing policy for iron ore products, including policy updates, special conditions, and project-level pricing recommendations for approval.
  • Ensure pricing strategy is applied consistently across contracts and sales agreements with the required approvals in place.
  • Maintain monitoring systems for industry data, competitor strategies, product values, and pricing trends.
  • Align marketing, sales, value chain, and production teams on pricing approach and commercial considerations.
  • Contribute to team action plans, strategic initiatives, budget tracking, and responses to performance gaps.
  • Support customer segmentation analysis for existing and prospective customers to improve pricing alignment by segment.
  • Offer data-led ideas that highlight risks, opportunities, and improvements to commercial outcomes.

Challenges in the role

  • Work with multiple stakeholders to make sure pricing policies are followed while balancing internal model results, market conditions, and customer value perception.
  • Convert complex pricing logic into simple, usable guidance for negotiations and contract discussions.
  • Help the team remain a reliable source of expertise in iron ore pricing.
  • Bring forward practical and innovative ideas that can create business value.
