Job description
About Liberty
Liberty is a well-established non-bank lender in New Zealand with decades of experience helping more than 850,000 people access finance across Australia and New Zealand. Through the Mike Pero Mortgages network, the business works with advisers to provide smarter lending solutions and strong customer experiences.
The company describes itself as a collaborative, social, values-led workplace. Its guiding principles are FLAIR: Fair, Learning, Accountable, Invested and Resourceful. These values influence how the team operates, supports customers and works with one another.
The opportunity
Liberty is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Marketing Adviser to join its NZ Marketing & Communications team and support the Mike Pero Mortgages business.
This role focuses on delivering integrated marketing activity that improves adviser engagement, strengthens brand visibility and contributes to business growth. You will work with internal teams, business partners and external agencies to plan and deliver campaigns, produce content and marketing materials, and maintain a consistent brand experience across all channels.
The position suits a strategic marketer who is equally comfortable with planning and execution, and who performs well in a fast-paced, relationship-based environment.
What you will do
- Plan and deliver integrated marketing campaigns aligned to business goals, with clear measures of success and post-campaign review.
- Lead the development and refinement of adviser and customer-facing collateral, keeping it consistent, polished and commercially effective.
- Write concise briefs for agencies and internal stakeholders, then oversee the full creative and production workflow.
- Improve marketing operations by centralising brand assets and maintaining key documentation.
- Develop strong working relationships with advisers, business partners and internal teams to support engagement and growth.
- Track market movements, competitor actions and customer insights to help shape strategy and uncover new opportunities.
- Produce high-quality content for digital, direct marketing and communications channels.
- Help deliver PR, events and sponsorship activities that lift the Mike Pero Mortgages brand.
- Protect brand integrity across all platforms and partner channels.
- Ensure all marketing work meets compliance, risk and governance expectations.
- Handle several projects at once while meeting deadlines and staying within budget.
What you will bring
- Substantial experience in a senior marketing position, ideally in financial services, franchise networks or adviser-led businesses.
- Strong experience managing campaigns across digital, direct and brand channels.
- Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence across different levels of the business.
- Experience working with agencies and directing creative development.
- A data-led approach, including the ability to assess campaign results and turn insights into action.
- Strong writing and communication skills, with careful attention to brand tone and detail.
- Highly organised, proactive and able to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Awareness of compliance and risk in regulated industries is preferred.
- A commitment to continuous improvement, new ideas and measurable results.

- Employee communities including Pride, Women in Leadership, Green Stars and others.
- Chances to contribute through Lend-A-Hand volunteering initiatives.
- Learning and career growth opportunities, including access to online training platforms.
