Overview
Jordan & Jordan is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Market Data Legal Analyst to support a fast-moving financial services environment. This role centers on market data licensing, vendor oversight, and compliance, with responsibility for helping strengthen governance and ensure proper use of licensed data across the organization.
What you'll do
- Handle the review, negotiation, and administration of contracts with market data vendors, exchanges, and index providers.
- Assess important contract terms such as licensing limits, derived data permissions, redistribution rights, and reporting duties.
- Track adherence to licensing agreements, exchange rules, and market data reporting obligations.
- Act as a point of contact for vendors, exchanges, and data providers on subscriptions, pricing, renewals, and agreement discussions.
- Keep an eye on updates to exchange policies, licensing frameworks, and vendor pricing structures that could affect the business.
- Look for ways to improve licensing approaches and strengthen governance procedures.
- Work closely with internal teams across business, compliance, legal, procurement, and technology to support accurate reporting and policy compliance.
- Assist with market data audits, internal assessments, and governance efforts by preparing documentation and applying subject matter expertise.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree is mandatory, and a JD is also required.
- Between 3 and 6 years of hands-on experience in market data licensing.
- Solid knowledge of market data vendors and exchange licensing structures, including Bloomberg, LSEG/Refinitiv, ICE, FactSet, and major exchanges.
- Proven background in negotiating vendor contracts and managing important supplier relationships.
- Understanding of market data compliance topics such as entitlements, derived data, reporting obligations, and non-display use.
- Strong Excel ability; SQL or other reporting and analytics tools are an added advantage.
- Excellent analytical, coordination, and communication skills, along with close attention to detail.
- Comfort working on your own while also collaborating effectively with different teams and stakeholders.
