Role Overview
The Maritime Middle East & Africa team is seeking a motivated young professional to join its surveyor group in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. This role reports to the Station Manager for Nigeria Operations.
What You Will Do
- Carry out ship-in-operation surveys on mobile offshore units, including work at shipyards and offshore sites, in line with applicable rules and regulations.
- Handle certification and verification of materials and components against required standards.
- Work closely with shipyards, owners’ representatives, and manufacturers to keep projects moving smoothly.
- Coordinate with clients and other internal teams as needed.
- Contribute to project-based assignments, including cross-functional verification work.
- Track project progress, prepare reports, and ensure follow-up is completed within required timelines.
- Plan, coordinate, monitor, and continuously improve project operations in accordance with strategy, budget, DMS, and other relevant instructions.
Candidate Profile
The role is suited to someone with a technical background in naval, marine, or mechanical engineering and some maritime industry exposure. A valid driving licence, readiness to travel, solid English communication skills, and the ability to solve problems analytically are important. The job also requires physical capability to perform routine duties.
