Role Overview

The Maritime Middle East & Africa team is seeking a motivated young professional to join its surveyor group in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. This role reports to the Station Manager for Nigeria Operations.

What You Will Do

  • Carry out ship-in-operation surveys on mobile offshore units, including work at shipyards and offshore sites, in line with applicable rules and regulations.
  • Handle certification and verification of materials and components against required standards.
  • Work closely with shipyards, owners’ representatives, and manufacturers to keep projects moving smoothly.
  • Coordinate with clients and other internal teams as needed.
  • Contribute to project-based assignments, including cross-functional verification work.
  • Track project progress, prepare reports, and ensure follow-up is completed within required timelines.
  • Plan, coordinate, monitor, and continuously improve project operations in accordance with strategy, budget, DMS, and other relevant instructions.

Candidate Profile

The role is suited to someone with a technical background in naval, marine, or mechanical engineering and some maritime industry exposure. A valid driving licence, readiness to travel, solid English communication skills, and the ability to solve problems analytically are important. The job also requires physical capability to perform routine duties.

Strong personal traits for this position include being open-minded, responsible, trustworthy, caring toward colleagues and customers, quick to learn, comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, and able to build effective relationships in busy and changing environments.
