Role Summary

The Marine Operations Manager will lead marine activities with a strong focus on maintaining operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and compliance with company standards. The role is responsible for overseeing fleet readiness, team performance, safety, maintenance, and day-to-day marine operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full marine operation, including a fleet of 50-seater catamarans, patrol boats, and a pontoon boat.
  • Train and guide boat skippers, crew members, and marine hostesses.
  • Manage duty rosters, leave planning, and performance tracking for captains, crew, and marine hostesses.
  • Check all vessels for seaworthiness and operational readiness.
  • Ensure navigation and communication systems remain functional and reliable.
  • Monitor grooming and hygiene compliance for all marine team members in line with company standards.
  • Maintain inventory levels and arrange replenishment of consumable supplies.
  • Keep accurate records of boat tools, equipment, and maintenance logs.
  • Track and monitor the movement and status of all vessels.
  • Ensure boats are scheduled and operated according to company procedures.
  • Confirm that all vessels are kept clean, maintained, and presented to standard at all times.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all boat operations.
  • Verify that all marine assets remain mechanically safe and clean.
  • Lead safety drills, rescue exercises, and sea trials.
  • Make operational judgments during adverse weather conditions.
  • Perform minor repair work on boats when required.
  • Coordinate with local authorities and external service providers for vessel repair and maintenance.
  • Manage arrangements related to antifouling, hull cleaning, dry docking, and the disposal of backwater and grey water.
  • Oversee periodic servicing of boat engines, generators, air-conditioning systems, safety equipment, and distress kits.
  • Support boat retrieval and rescue activities when needed.
  • Liaise with the coastguard, port authorities, and boat or engine suppliers.

Requirements

  • 7 to 10 years of solid experience in marina or marine operations.
  • Hands-on sailing experience in a luxury yacht or cruise line environment is required.
  • Strong practical knowledge of navigation and marine operations.
  • Valid International Maritime Organization (IMO) certifications are mandatory.
  • Must hold valid licenses related to boat driving and diving.
  • Additional marine or marina certifications such as CMM and AMMC/IMM are expected.
  • Good knowledge of navigation charts for the Middle East, especially Qatar and surrounding borders.
  • Familiarity with navigation routes to other marinas in Qatar.
  • Solid understanding of maritime rules and regulations.
  • Strong guest service orientation and a customer-focused mindset.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Doha, Qatar.
