Job description
Role Overview
This position is based at Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara in Doha, Qatar. The employer is Minor Hotels, an international hospitality group with more than 530 properties across 50+ countries in Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, the Indian Ocean, Europe, and South America, operating through brands such as Anantara, Avani, Elewana, Oaks, NH Hotels, NH Collection, nhow, and Tivoli.
Key Duties
- Work under the skipper’s direction and carry out assigned activities.
- Support tasks assigned by the Marine Coordinator.
- Take part in emergency response procedures and drills.
- Act promptly during emergencies and follow the assigned duties.
- Escalate unsafe actions or conditions to the skipper.
- Deliver attentive, personalized guest service in line with hotel standards and procedures, building positive relationships from the moment guests arrive.
- Welcome every guest warmly and ensure a professional first impression.
- Handle guest complaints courteously and professionally; if the issue is resolved, pass the matter to a supervisor or manager for follow-up.
- Seek help from a supervisor or manager when a situation becomes serious.
- Stay informed about hotel facilities, operating hours, and ongoing activities or events so they can be promoted effectively.
- Keep up to date with operational, administrative, and organizational changes and announcements.
- Join daily briefings with the front office team to review tasks and daily priorities.
- Help maintain a positive team environment and strong working relationships.
- Report to duty on time in proper uniform and name tag, while maintaining grooming and appearance standards required by the hotel.
- Welcome and assist guests during arrival and departure.
- Ensure current safety and promotional videos are displayed; if this is not possible, present the safety instructions at the start of the trip.
- Make sure announcements are communicated at both the beginning and end of each trip.
- Coordinate with the team to support smooth guest transfers.
- Complete required checklists and keep vessels clean and presentable, including arranging flowers, water, dates, magazines, and other needed amenities.
- Take part in STCW training or any other external training required by local regulations or company policy.
Requirements
- High school education or a diploma.
- Strong English communication skills.
- A customer-oriented approach with careful attention to detail.
- Prior exposure to hospitality is an advantage.
