Job description

About the role

SpaceX is working toward a future where people can explore beyond Earth, with the long-term aim of making human life on Mars possible. The Hospitality team supports employees, customers, government partners, prospective clients, and visitors by providing everything from snacks and daily meals to full-service events.

The Hospitality Manager will lead food and guest service operations across a 24/7, multi-outlet environment. This includes shaping and rolling out customer service practices and training programs, coordinating service delivery for roughly 10,000 meals each day, and supporting a variety of concepts such as high-volume food halls, quick-service outlets, full-service restaurants, bars, and catering. The role also includes staff leadership, customer engagement, cross-site coordination, hiring and onboarding, training compliance, scheduling, and payroll oversight. The position is central to creating a welcoming, efficient, and professional service environment that supports productivity and morale.

Responsibilities

  • Set clear expectations and standards for hospitality operations and guest experience.
  • Develop, launch, and improve new services, offerings, and training initiatives.
  • Oversee daily operations across multiple food service and catering locations.
  • Lead supervisors and team members through hiring, performance management, talent development, succession planning, and a culture built on accountability and continuous growth.
  • Partner on the planning and execution of events, including large onsite and offsite gatherings as well as catering needs.
  • Promote strict food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety practices while maintaining full regulatory compliance.
  • Create systems that improve productivity, time use, and resource allocation across the department.
  • Build and assess training programs covering customer service, menu knowledge, allergens, and nutrition, and measure their effectiveness.
  • Maintain product quality, consistency, and inventory control across all outlets through quality checks, KPI tracking, waste reduction, and process improvement.
  • Handle department financial performance, including P&L ownership, budgeting, forecasting, labor and inventory controls, sales review, and reporting.
  • Develop vendor relationships, negotiate terms, track supplier performance, resolve issues, and improve quality, cost, and reliability.

Basic qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification.
  • At least 10 years of experience in food service.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience.

Preferred experience

  • 7 or more years leading teams in the food service industry.
  • Experience launching new operations or building procedures from the ground up.
  • Strong knowledge of fine dining, upscale, casual, and quick-service restaurant operations.

  • Strong time management abilities.
  • Advanced understanding of food safety and sanitation.
  • Solid knowledge of ordering systems and inventory management.
  • Comfort using computers and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Working knowledge of allergen awareness and dietary restrictions.
  • Working knowledge of beverage service, including beer, wine, and spirits.
  • Professional demeanor and strong workplace presence.
  • Experience in a corporate setting.
  • Understanding of HR best practices.
  • Experience leading groups of 25 or more staff members.

Additional requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry items up to 25 lbs without assistance.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, up to 8 to 12 hours per day.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and lift repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Availability to work any shift, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Participation in internal leadership and development training is required.
  • Strong adaptability, problem-solving ability, and exceptional attention to detail are essential.
