About the Role
The Manager, Course Approval, in the Quality Management Division, is responsible for safeguarding the quality and compliance of courses approved under the Training Grant System (TGS). The role covers accreditation work, quality assurance reviews, system testing, and operational assistance for survey administration. It supports the broader goal of strengthening Continuing Education and Training (CET) and contributing to a healthy CET ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage course accreditation and approval activities, together with related quality management work in the Training Grant System (TGS).
- Review course materials to ensure they align with effective adult learning practices as well as relevant SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) and funding requirements.
- Handle escalated queries and appeals from the public and training providers regarding courses, including investigations into possible breaches of SSG’s Terms and Conditions for Registered Training Providers (RTPs).
- Assist with testing system changes and support the rollout of enhancements to the TGS to improve usability and process efficiency.
- Allocate incoming cases to officers for processing and follow-up to keep work moving efficiently.
- Support the administration of the TRAQOM (Training Quality and Outcomes Measurement) survey, including operational coordination, management, and data reporting.
- Contribute to divisional and organisation-wide projects, initiatives, and other assigned duties that support continuous improvement and innovation.
Requirements
- Applicants should have the competencies needed to perform the role effectively.
- A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience is preferred, ideally within Continuing Education and Training (CET).
- Strong spoken and written English is required.
- Exposure to, or understanding of, adult education in Singapore is preferred.
- Holding the WSQ Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP) or WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) would be an advantage.
- Good analytical ability is needed to examine, assess, and investigate public complaints, feedback, and whistleblowing matters.
- Basic to intermediate data handling skills are expected.
Additional Information
This appointment is offered as a 2-year contract initially. Depending on business needs and performance, there may be an opportunity for extension or conversion to a permanent role.
