Role overview
The company is hiring an experienced Loan Officer Assistant to support a designated Loan Officer and help ensure clients have a smooth, positive experience during the mortgage process. The role combines loan origination support with day-to-day administrative coordination.
This position requires registration with the national Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) under the federal S.A.F.E. Act.
Responsibilities
- Keep loan files progressing efficiently through processing and closing.
- Reply quickly to client questions and concerns so they stay informed at each stage of the loan journey.
- Check and organize client documentation to make sure all paperwork is complete and accurate.
- Prepare loan packages for handoff to processing.
- Deliver strong customer service to both clients and internal team members.
- Handle a range of administrative tasks to support branch operations.
- Assist the Loan Officer with scheduling, communication, and file coordination.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mortgage operations as a Loan Officer Assistant or processor.
- Hands-on experience with VA, Conventional, and FHA loan programs.
- Working knowledge of Encompass LOS.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Good time management and organizational ability.
- Ability to pick up new tasks quickly and manage multiple priorities with close attention to detail.
- Understanding of loan products and compliance rules.
- Comfort working in a busy, fast-moving, deadline-focused environment.
- Must be registered with NMLS.
