Job description
Role overview
The bartender role is centered on creating a memorable guest experience rather than simply preparing beverages. The position calls for someone who follows trends, pays attention to local preferences, and adapts to changing guest expectations. In addition to drink service, the bartender acts as a welcoming host for the space and takes ownership of broader guest service needs.
This role requires strong product knowledge, a polished approach, and the ability to ensure the bar area is well presented and operates smoothly. The bartender will also build positive relationships across the hotel and within the local community to better anticipate guest needs and respond with care.
Key responsibilities
The bartender is expected to deliver service that is warm, attentive, and detail-focused. The role includes maintaining the bar’s appearance and functionality, supporting guest interactions, and handling transactions responsibly. The position also involves working closely with other hotel teams to help meet guest expectations consistently.
Work expectations
This job requires a professional appearance, adherence to company standards, protection of company property, and respect for confidentiality. The bartender must be comfortable remaining active for long periods and handling physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, twisting, and stooping. Duties may also include other reasonable tasks assigned as needed.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or an equivalent GED is preferred. Candidates should have at least one year of relevant work experience. No prior supervisory experience is required, and no license or certification is needed.
