Job description
About the Role
EMC Behavioral Health is committed to client-centered, evidence-based mental health care grounded in meaningful connection, clinical quality, and practical tools for long-term wellness. The organization partners with clients, families, and communities to support real progress and is looking for clinicians who are motivated by purpose, advocacy, and compassionate care. This opportunity is open for clinicians serving the San Antonio and San Marcos areas.
Scope of Work
- Work with treatment providers, community organizations, and support services to help clients maintain continuity of care and move toward their goals.
- Use independent clinical judgment to monitor client progress and, when appropriate, report important concerns, behavioral changes, or safety-related observations to the proper parties.
- Prepare and keep service documentation current in the company’s electronic health record system while following legal, regulatory, and professional standards.
- As clinically appropriate, coordinate with family members, caregivers, and licensed medical or behavioral health professionals about service-related matters.
- Perform clinical assessments within the limits of your licensure and contribute professional insight to treatment planning and recovery goals.
- Deliver individual, group, or family counseling and other recovery-focused interventions aligned with your professional qualifications.
- Take part in developing treatment strategies that fit client needs and established clinical objectives.
- Join meetings or information-sharing activities needed for compliance, care coordination, or service alignment, without creating supervision or control over how the work is performed.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited program.
- Active Texas LPC or LCSW license.
- At least 1 year of experience working as an LPC or LCSW, ideally in a clinical setting.
- Strong abilities in assessment, diagnosis, and intervention.
- Comfort using evidence-based therapy methods and interventions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Working knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines.
- Willingness to provide both telehealth and on-site services in Houston 2 to 3 days per calendar week, as required.
- Telehealth services must cover all operating cities and nearby surrounding areas, including Houston, San Antonio, San Marcos, and Austin.
Preferred Background
- Experience supporting specific populations such as children, adolescents, veterans, or older adults.
- Additional certifications such as CBT, DBT, or trauma-focused therapy.
- Bilingual ability in English and Spanish.
Equal Opportunity
EMC Behavioral Health follows an equal opportunity hiring approach and seeks to build a workplace that is diverse, inclusive, and equitable. Candidates from all backgrounds, identities, and experiences are encouraged to apply.
