Role overview
The Liaisoning Officer will manage coordination with government departments, statutory bodies, and local authorities to secure the approvals, licences, permits, and clearances needed for day-to-day business activities and project execution. This position plays a key role in ensuring the organisation stays compliant with all relevant legal and regulatory obligations while keeping operations moving without delays.
Government and regulatory coordination
- Work closely with departments such as Corporation, Municipality, Revenue, PWD, Mining, Pollution Control Board, Fire & Safety, and other official bodies.
- Secure new licences, renew existing ones, and track all mandatory permissions and approvals.
- Monitor application progress and follow up regularly to obtain clearances on time.
- Maintain productive, professional relationships with government officers and other stakeholders.
Compliance and record management
- Ensure the organisation meets all statutory and regulatory obligations.
- Track expiry dates for licences and ensure renewals are completed within schedule.
- Keep systematic records of permits, approvals, and compliance-related documents.
- Assist during official audits and inspections conducted by authorities.
Documentation and reporting
- Draft and file applications, agreements, affidavits, and other statutory paperwork.
- Keep accurate records of all communication with government offices.
- Share periodic updates and compliance status reports with management.
Project support
- Support land approvals, project-level clearances, and infrastructure-related permissions.
- Coordinate documentation needs with legal, engineering, and project teams.
- Address regulatory hurdles that could affect project schedules.
Stakeholder management
- Act as the organisation’s representative before government departments and authorities.
- Handle external queries, concerns, and compliance-related grievances.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with local administration and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications and experience
A bachelor’s degree in any discipline is required. A background in Law, Public Administration, or Business Administration is preferred. The role calls for 8 to 15 years of experience in liaisoning, government relations, compliance, or administration.
Key skills and competencies
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of licensing processes and statutory compliance, along with direct experience dealing with bodies such as PWD, Pollution Control Board, Corporation, Collector Office, Mining Department, and similar authorities. Excellent communication, negotiation, documentation, and follow-up skills are essential, as well as the ability to manage several approval and compliance tasks at the same time.
