Role overview
The Public Defence Service at North Shore, Albany is seeking an entry-level Legal Support Assistant to join its team. This role suits someone who enjoys helping people, is comfortable with computers, and can stay organised in a fast-moving office setting.
What you will do
- Support legal secretaries and contribute to the smooth running of the office.
- Create new client files and prepare legal paperwork for use by the team.
- Handle client disclosure processing.
- Step in at reception when needed and carry out a range of day-to-day administrative tasks.
Skills and experience
The role is designed for someone at the beginning of their career. Previous exposure to a customer-focused professional environment and basic office administration experience would be helpful, but the position also offers a chance to build a long-term career in the area of criminal law.

Salary
The annual salary for this position is expected to fall between NZD 56,343 and NZD 70,144, depending on your experience and capability.
