Role Summary

The Legal Assistant will support attorneys working on construction litigation, multi-party disputes, and insurance claims. This position involves preparing and formatting legal documents, keeping case files organized, tracking calendars and deadlines, coordinating communication with attorneys, clients, insurers, and other involved parties, and maintaining precise records. The role also includes helping with discovery and document production, arranging meetings and court dates, and handling day-to-day administrative work that keeps cases moving efficiently. This is a full-time, on-site position in Charlotte, NC, with regular in-office collaboration required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, format, and proofread legal materials such as pleadings, correspondence, and discovery responses.
  • Keep case files, records, and supporting documents organized and up to date.
  • Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, meetings, and court appearances.
  • Coordinate communication between attorneys, clients, insurers, court personnel, and other parties.
  • Support discovery efforts and document production tasks.
  • Carry out routine administrative duties to help ensure smooth case handling.

Qualifications

  • Comfort with drafting, formatting, and proofreading legal documents.
  • Strong professional communication skills for working with attorneys, clients, insurers, and court staff.
  • Background in administrative support within a legal environment, including calendar coordination, file management, and data entry.
  • Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or in a comparable legal support role is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and the ability to juggle several deadlines in a busy setting.
  • Working knowledge of legal practice management tools, Microsoft Office, and electronic filing systems.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Charlotte, NC, maintain confidentiality, and collaborate closely with a varied legal team.
