Job description

Overview

This is a remote hourly contract role for a linguistic specialist focused on English language analysis and content evaluation. The assignment pays between $40 and $95 per hour and may require a weekly commitment of 10 to 40 hours.

Core Work

  • Produce accurate transcriptions of video material, including precise time markers.
  • Review spoken language to identify tone, intent, and emotional expression.
  • Assess grammar, sentence structure, and general language quality.
  • Interpret advanced vocabulary and clarify meanings in context.
  • Carry out detailed linguistic reviews covering tone, register, and situational context.
  • Work with other team members to keep outputs aligned and consistent.
  • Keep written and spoken communication clear, polished, and reliable across tasks.

What You Need

  • English must be at a native or near-native level, with strong speaking and writing ability.
  • Prior experience in transcription, language annotation, or similar language-centered work is required.
  • A solid grasp of linguistic concepts, grammar, and language analysis is important.
  • Careful attention to detail is needed when transcribing and annotating audio or video.
  • You should be able to identify speaker tone, emotion, and grammatical nuance accurately.
  • Good time management and organization are necessary to meet deadlines consistently.
  • The role requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a remote team.
