Role summary
The Land Surveyor will handle surveying activities for construction projects in Dubai, ensuring accurate site measurements, setting out works, and reliable documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out topographic, boundary, and construction surveys using total stations, GPS, levels, and related instruments.
- Set up and confirm horizontal and vertical control points for the project.
- Mark out grids, foundations, columns, roads, utilities, and other elements in line with approved drawings.
- Verify dimensions, elevations, coordinates, and alignments during ongoing construction.
- Produce survey reports, field records, sketches, and as-built drawings.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure design intent is applied correctly.
- Track construction progress and flag any differences from approved plans.
- Look after surveying instruments and keep them calibrated and in good working condition.
- Follow project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements at all times.
- Support quantity calculations and prepare survey-related records and documentation.
Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Professional certification or a survey license, where applicable.
- Prior experience on building construction projects.
- Working knowledge of survey and drafting software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Leica Geo Office, Trimble Business Center, or similar tools.
- Good understanding of construction drawings and core surveying concepts.
- Ability to operate a total station, GPS/GNSS, auto level, and other survey equipment.
