Job Overview
The role focuses on designing and implementing LTE/NR physical layer algorithms and procedures, leading high-performance teams, optimizing layer 1 performance, interfacing across subsystems, and managing large-scale 4G/5G L1 product initiatives including customer support.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop LTE/NR PHY algorithms and procedures from design to implementation.
- Guide and mentor teams to achieve excellence in high-performance L1 development.
- Optimize layer 1 for improved latency, throughput, and resource utilization (CPU, DSP, GPU, FPGA).
- Coordinate interfaces with Radio/RF, Layer 2, and fronthaul components.
- Troubleshoot PHY issues utilizing logs, IQ captures, and laboratory equipment.
- Lead large-scale 4G/5G L1 product development, maintenance, and support programs including various eNodeB/gNodeB variants and deployment architectures such as vRAN, ORAN, and custom solutions.
- Communicate effectively with senior internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Expertise
- 2 to 8 years of professional experience in relevant domains.
- Deep knowledge of LTE/NR physical layer, DSP, RF, and antenna technologies.
- Strong understanding of modulation and coding techniques including FEC, LDPC, Turbo decoding, MIMO, beamforming, complex I/Q sample processing, FFT/IFFT, channel estimation, and equalization.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and MATLAB with experience in real-time embedded system development.
- Hands-on experience with FPGA, ASIC, and GPU programming.
- Familiarity with fronthaul protocols such as CPRI and eCPRI and L1 acceleration.
- Expertise in PHY/RF software development and previous involvement in 4G/5G L1 program delivery.
