Job description

Role overview

McKinsey & Company is looking for a Knowledge Analyst to support work in manufacturing and supply chain, with a strong focus on logistics and broader supply chain performance. In this role, you will contribute to client problem-solving, capability building, and internal knowledge development while working in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

Who you will work with

You will be part of a collaborative team that values resilience, curiosity, and continuous improvement. The environment emphasizes coaching, apprenticeship, and rapid learning, with colleagues investing in your development as much as in client outcomes. You will also be exposed to a global network of professionals across many countries and backgrounds.

Impact and core work

A large share of your work will involve solving complex logistics-related client challenges. You will contribute to network design, warehousing improvement initiatives, logistics transformation efforts, and diagnostics that assess supply chain performance for global clients. Your work will also involve supporting the creation and upkeep of proprietary supply chain tools and other knowledge assets.

Key focus areas

  • Build and assess optimal network strategies for supply chain operations.
  • Support warehousing improvement levers and logistics transformation programs.
  • Perform diagnostics on logistics and supply chain performance for global operations.
  • Use statistical analysis, data analytics, optimization, and simulation methods to solve problems.
  • Apply Gen AI and Agentic AI learnings where relevant to the work.
  • Contribute to McKinsey’s proprietary supply chain tools and knowledge development projects.

What the role offers

The firm offers continuous learning through structured development programs, clear and actionable feedback, and a culture where your ideas are expected to create impact from day one. You will be part of a diverse global community and receive a competitive compensation package along with comprehensive benefits for you and your family.

Qualifications and skills

This position calls for postgraduate-level training in operations management, statistics, or industrial engineering, along with at least 1 year of relevant experience in manufacturing, a service-oriented organization, or an analytics firm with some exposure to supply chain work. Strong coding ability in tools such as Excel VBA, Excel Macros, R, Python, or another open-source language is expected. Experience with inventory management, demand planning, production planning and scheduling, logistics optimization, and supply chain IT is preferred.

Additional requirements

You should be able to analyze complex problems by breaking them into smaller parts, identifying root causes, and recommending practical solutions. The role also requires the ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, collaborate with people at all levels, and communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
