Noost Knit Co. is a quaint knitwear studio and micro-factory based in Ullapool, a picturesque village on Scotland's North West Coast. Established in 2025, the company produces its own product lines including blankets, accessories, and contemporary garments inspired by the traditional knitting heritage of the Scottish coastal regions. Collaboration and community are core values for the company, emphasizing passion and pride in craftsmanship.

Technically, the studio operates two Shima knitting machines onsite, while linking and finishing happen in a separate unit within the village using a variety of Complett and Exacta linking machines.

Position Overview

Noost Knit Co. seeks an experienced Knitwear Linker to join their growing team. The role allows for flexible working arrangements including full-time or part-time schedules, with options to work onsite in Ullapool or remotely. Freelance applicants will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities and Skills

Operate industrial linking machines handling garment gauges from 5gg to 12gg.
Expertly link a variety of garment shapes to maintain superior quality standards.
Utilize extensive knowledge of natural yarns within a premium knitwear production environment.
Collaborate effectively with the design team to both assemble established product runs and develop new collections.
Perform knitwear finishing tasks including minor repair work, tying ends, and sewing on labels with precision.
Maintain strict quality control and uphold a consistently high level of accuracy.
Self-manage workload efficiently, meeting deadlines and maintaining an organized work setting.
Optionally engage in Shima machine operation and other knitting processes if desired.

Additional Information

Role accommodates full-time, part-time, and freelance contracts.
Work location is flexible: onsite at Ullapool or remotely.
