Kitchen Technician

Role overview

The Kitchen Technician at Miraval The Red Sea is responsible for keeping the back-of-house area in good working order. The role centers on maintaining the resort’s plants and equipment, supporting engineering workflows, and making sure maintenance tasks are carried out efficiently. It also involves installing, servicing, and repairing kitchen and laundry equipment so guest comfort and equipment performance remain at the expected standard.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled upkeep and corrective repairs on kitchen and laundry equipment.
• Identify faults, investigate issues, and determine the cause of equipment breakdowns.
• Adjust and oversee system controls to support better energy use.
• React quickly to maintenance calls and guest-related issues.
• Document equipment condition, completed repairs, and materials or parts consumed.
• Follow safety rules and comply with applicable local regulations.
• Support broader maintenance work whenever required.
• Keep tools and equipment in safe, usable condition.
• Liaise with external suppliers or service providers when needed.
• Take on additional tasks assigned by engineering leadership.

Qualifications

• Prior hands-on experience repairing kitchen and laundry equipment is required.
• A technical certification or license is preferred.
• Experience working with boiler maintenance is required.
• Basic English communication skills are necessary; Arabic is an added advantage.

Physical requirements

• The job involves frequent standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and bending.
• Ability to lift or move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs is needed.
• Work may take place in elevated, low-clearance, or confined areas.
