Job description
Role Overview
Pi Square Technologies is hiring a Kernel/BSP development engineer in Hyderabad to work on Linux kernel and board support package activities for Android-based platforms, with a strong focus on MediaTek chipsets.
Experience Required
This position calls for 4+ years of relevant experience.
Core Requirements
- Excellent command over C programming, along with a strong grasp of data structures and algorithms.
- Practical experience building and maintaining Linux kernel components on Android platforms.
- Hands-on exposure to device driver development and integration with low-level hardware peripherals such as cameras, audio, sensors, and displays.
- Working knowledge of kernel debugging and trace tools, including JTAG, KGDB, and ftrace.
- Experience working with MediaTek SoCs.
Good-to-Have Experience
- Ability to profile kernel performance and apply tuning improvements.
- Contribution experience in the upstream Linux kernel ecosystem, such as patch submission and participation in mailing lists.
- Familiarity with Android HAL layers and broader system integration work.
- Experience supporting factory tools and production-stage environments.
- Background in automotive systems or other embedded domains.
