Job Overview
This full-time, remote position as a Junior Web Developer at Richmond Public Schools Education Foundation Inc involves supporting the development, upkeep, and improvement of web applications and school websites. The role entails creating user-friendly interfaces, implementing responsive layouts, and ensuring compliance with accessibility standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop clean, well-documented code to support web applications and website features.
- Identify and fix bugs while conducting thorough testing of web functionalities.
- Work collaboratively with senior developers, designers, and school personnel to introduce new website features.
- Maintain and update website content and integrate backend services as needed.
- Participate in code reviews and engage in continuous learning to enhance technical competencies.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in front-end development and web design techniques.
- Experience with back-end development and programming fundamentals.
- Competence in full-stack web development.
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with familiarity of modern frameworks or libraries like React or Vue.
- Understanding of responsive design, cross-browser functionality, and web accessibility best practices.
- Capability to work independently in a remote setup while effectively communicating with both technical and non-technical team members.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- An interest in educational environments and eagerness to learn school-specific technologies and protocols is advantageous.
