Job description
About the company
Nintendo Co., Ltd. is a long-established entertainment company based in Kyoto, Japan. Since its beginnings in 1889 with the production and sale of Hanafuda playing cards, the company has expanded into a global creator and publisher of gaming systems and software. From the launch of the Family Computer (Famicom) in 1983 through Nintendo Switch 2, its core focus has remained on building entertainment products and experiences that bring enjoyment to people around the world.
At Nintendo, people with diverse backgrounds and strengths work together toward one shared purpose: creating smiles for players everywhere.
Role overview
Nintendo is seeking a Junior UX Designer to support the creation and delivery of online features for its digital experiences. The role combines UX thinking, requirement definition, coordination with technical teams, and quality assurance to help ensure customer-facing features are delivered accurately, on time, and within budget.
Key responsibilities
You will turn user and business needs into structured tickets, user stories, and feature requirements, while coordinating with IT leads and engineers to understand dependencies across journeys, platforms, and teams. You will also prepare the supporting materials needed for implementation and testing, and help validate that delivered features meet expected standards.
Additional information
Applicants are expected to share their earliest possible start date and salary expectations as part of the application.
Requirements
The ideal candidate has a degree in marketing or a similar discipline, along with at least some exposure to UX design and Agile ways of working. A solid grasp of web development fundamentals and digital technologies is important, as is practical experience enhancing digital stores, online shops, or marketplace-type environments.
You should also bring strong knowledge of Nintendo products, customer segments, and market trends, plus the ability to work with data and convert it into useful insights. Very good written and spoken English, strong planning and organization skills, and the interpersonal confidence to build trust and influence stakeholders are also essential.
