About the Role
Dairymaster is seeking a Junior Software Developer to join their team at the global headquarters located in Causeway, Tralee, Co. Kerry, Ireland. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity for early career developers to gain comprehensive hands-on experience with the entire technology ecosystem in a supportive environment that emphasizes code quality, regular refactoring, and minimizing technical debt.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with senior engineers to build expertise across the full software stack.
- Develop responsive, modern web user interfaces using technologies such as TypeScript, Angular or React, Node.js, and NPM to translate business requirements into functional components and manage application state effectively.
- Write maintainable and scalable backend services employing Dependency Injection and Inversion of Control patterns using C# (.NET Core), Java, or Kotlin, with data management involving MySQL and AWS infrastructure.
- Develop native mobile applications using Swift and SwiftUI, handling app lifecycle and package management through SwiftPM, while exploring Core frameworks such as UIKit and Core Data.
- Adapt flexibly between backend logic, frontend development, and mobile application challenges within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Recent graduate or entry-level developer with a sound understanding of Computer Science fundamentals.
- Experience working with source control using Git.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Ability to read or comprehend legacy Objective-C code.
- Prior exposure to Android and Java development environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills with swift learning capacity for new concepts.
- Good command of Object-Oriented Programming principles and software design patterns.
- Clear communication skills for articulating technical issues and navigating challenges independently.
- Desire and ability to switch effectively between backend, frontend, and mobile development tasks.
