About Appinio

Appinio is a global market research company that blends an AI-driven insights platform with specialist consulting. Its goal is to help organizations make more evidence-based decisions by understanding consumer behavior and opinions. Founded in Hamburg in 2014, the company now operates remotely first, with more than 260 employees across 13 countries, over 2,600 international clients, and research coverage in more than 190 markets worldwide.

The company also emphasizes openness in hiring and shares guidance on what candidates can expect throughout its recruitment process.

Role overview

Appinio is hiring a (Junior) Research Executive (m/f/d) for its Research Team in DACH. The role is suited to someone who enjoys research operations, working with data, and turning project requirements into well-run market research studies. You will help deliver projects smoothly from questionnaire preparation through fieldwork monitoring, while working closely with Research Consultants to support the delivery of strong client insights.

This position focuses on the operational side of research: setting up surveys correctly, maintaining data quality, monitoring performance, and helping ensure that each project produces reliable results. You will also contribute to using AI across research workflows in collaboration with the Product team.

What you will do

  • Coordinate and execute market research projects from an operational perspective, including survey programming, testing, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Build questionnaires and fieldwork setups on the Appinio platform with a strong focus on accuracy and data integrity.
  • Assist in adapting and testing questionnaires for different research approaches such as U&A, tracking, concept testing, creative testing, MaxDiff, and Conjoint.
  • Track survey progress, spot issues early, and take action to resolve problems during fieldwork.
  • Work alongside Research Consultants and help with analysis and reporting when required.
  • Partner with Account Management and Research Consulting to support smooth project transfers and efficient execution.
  • Keep a consistently high level of precision throughout all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Support the integration of AI into research processes and collaborate with the Product team to strengthen AI capabilities.

What you should bring

  • A degree in psychology, business administration, market research, statistics, or another field closely connected to data.
  • At least 1 to 2 years of professional experience in market research.
  • A strong eye for detail and comfort working with structured processes, tools, and data.
  • Good organizational ability and the capacity to manage several tasks at once in a fast-moving environment.
  • Solid Excel and PowerPoint skills, or experience with comparable tools.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative working style across teams.
  • Fluency in English and German proficiency at C2 level, both spoken and written.
  • A practical, proactive, and ownership-driven approach to work.
  • Strong numerical comfort and analytical thinking.

Additional role details

This is a fully remote position and is ideally open to candidates based in Germany, the UK, Portugal, the Netherlands, or Spain. The role reports directly to one of the Team Leads in Research Consulting DACH.

Interview process

  • Initial screening call with the Research team.
  • Case study interview with the Research Leadership team.
  • Executive interview.
  • Offer stage.
