Job description

About the company

Returning.AI builds gamified loyalty and retention systems for CFD brokerages. The product is designed for financial institutions and runs inside broker client portals to increase trader engagement through rewards, challenges, streaks, lucky draws, leaderboards, and lifecycle campaigns. The company is a profitable Singapore-based team of 10-15 people, working on a niche product with real integrations, operational complexity, and meaningful commercial impact. Enterprise customers pay between $60K and $144K per year.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can work directly with the founder, bring order to ambiguity, and help the team move faster. The company is not looking for a distant product owner; it wants someone who can create structure quickly, reduce confusion, and keep execution moving.

Why this role exists

A large share of the product thinking still sits with the founder, including shaping rough ideas into buildable work, keeping design and engineering aligned, checking requirements for gaps, and helping the team find practical solutions when there is no perfect answer. The role exists to take that load off and provide a stronger operating rhythm.

What you will do

You will support the daily product workflow by keeping priorities, blockers, and dependencies visible across design, engineering, QA, and founder-led work. You will turn scattered input such as client feedback, rough sketches, Slack conversations, and early ideas into structured briefs, specifications, priorities, edge cases, and next actions.

You should be comfortable prototyping directly with tools such as Codex, Claude Code, or similar systems to mock workflows, test feasibility, and build lightweight internal utilities before engineering time is committed. You will also read technical documentation, inspect payloads, understand authentication flows, test endpoints, and figure out how systems connect.

The role requires bridging product intent and engineering execution, catching vague or duplicated requirements early, and helping the team make grounded decisions under imperfect conditions. You are expected to use AI as a regular working tool for writing, analysis, research, structure, prototyping, and problem-solving. Follow-through matters: important decisions should become clear actions instead of disappearing into calls or chat threads.

Ideal working style

The right person can simplify confusion, communicate clearly across functions, and move from raw ideas to usable output without waiting for everything to be perfectly defined. The role rewards initiative, technical curiosity, good judgment, and comfort with ambiguity.

Must-have requirements

You must be a Singaporean citizen or Permanent Resident. A degree in Computer Science, Business, Entrepreneurship, or a related field is required. You also need real exposure to AI tools such as Claude Code, Codex, LLM-based workflows, or similar systems, plus strong written and spoken communication skills. Technical comfort is important enough to read documentation, follow API flows, and connect simple tools or workflows when needed.

What success looks like

In this role, the founder should no longer need to personally manage every moving part of the product team. Designers and engineers should receive clearer context and fewer avoidable misunderstandings. Decisions should happen faster because tradeoffs and blockers are surfaced earlier. More work should ship with less confusion and less rework, and AI should improve execution in a meaningful way rather than remain a talking point.

Who this role is for

This position suits someone who is a strong communicator, already uses AI tools in a practical way, and is comfortable reading technical material and tracing request flows. You should think like a product person, take ownership when something is unclear or stalled, and be able to create structure in a messy environment. You should also be creative, but still grounded in speed, tradeoffs, and what the team can realistically build.

What this role is not

This is not a conventional PM job centered on ceremonies and reporting. It is not a project coordination role focused on chasing updates, an AI strategy role, a pure engineering role, or a fit for someone who needs polished requirements and strict swim lanes before getting started.

Additional information

Strong indicators include experience in startup or founder-led environments, turning vague business ideas into shipped product or working prototypes, using AI-assisted workflows in practice, and being able to read docs, test things directly, and reduce ambiguity before handing work off. The company is also looking for people who write clearly, think clearly, and help teams move faster.

Weak indicators include an emphasis on frameworks and rituals over practical execution, needing fully formed tickets to be useful, avoiding technical detail, saying you are interested in AI without showing how it changes your work, or using process as a substitute for judgment.

What you get

You will have direct access to the founder, meaningful ownership, and a role that spans product, design, engineering, and execution. The team already uses AI heavily and expects the same from you. You will work on real enterprise products with real production constraints, and you will have the opportunity to shape how a small, high-output product team operates.

How to apply

Interested candidates should send an email to desmond[@]returning.ai and will receive a confirmed response. The application should include: why product management is the career path you want, an honest self-rating of your people skills, your MBTI if you have taken one, which AI tools you have used and how deeply, and one example of a messy situation you turned into a clear outcome. The company states that it will respond to every serious application.

Note

This opportunity is based in Singapore and is intended for candidates who can work onsite.
