Due to our ongoing expansion, we are looking for a motivated Junior Health & Safety Advisor to join our team and contribute to the safe execution of significant construction projects in Germany.
Role Overview
This position offers a fantastic career development opportunity for an aspiring Health & Safety professional within a dynamic, international construction setting. The role involves supporting the Health & Safety Manager and ensuring safety compliance on major construction sites across Germany and Europe. The role operates on a rotation basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support for the implementation and ongoing monitoring of health and safety procedures on construction sites.
- Assist in conducting site inspections, safety audits, and observations to identify potential hazards.
- Help ensure adherence to company policies, client specifications, and relevant local safety regulations.
- Aid in the preparation and review of essential safety documents, including risk assessments and method statements.
- Monitor site activities closely and report any observed unsafe practices or conditions.
- Support the investigation process for accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
- Deliver site safety inductions and contribute to toolbox talks as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date health and safety records and generate necessary reports.
- Collaborate effectively with site management, subcontractors, and site personnel to foster a strong safety culture.
Requirements
- A mandatory NEBOSH General Certificate or an equivalent recognized Health & Safety qualification is required.
- Possession of a degree, diploma, or qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or a related field is considered advantageous.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a construction, health and safety, or site-based role is necessary.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective collaboration.
- Strong organizational and administrative capabilities are needed to manage documentation and tasks efficiently.
- The ability to engage confidently with site teams and subcontractors is important.
- A proactive approach with a genuine desire for continuous learning and professional development is expected.
- Familiarity with construction health and safety legislation and current industry best practices is required.
- Fluency in English is a mandatory requirement for this role.
- A full, clean driving license is necessary.
- Candidates must be willing to work on a rotational schedule and travel as required throughout Germany and Europe.
