Job description

About Ardent

Ardent is an education-focused marketing agency that works with schools, universities, and learning providers. The team helps these organisations attract students, build stronger reputations, and grow sustainably through content strategy, video production, and digital advertising.

The Role

This fixed-term Junior Content Creator position runs for 2 months and is based in a hybrid setup: 3 days a week in the Hackney office and 2 days from home. The contract is full-time and starts as soon as possible.

The role is broad and combines editing, content production, and hands-on support for shoots. Most of the work will involve video editing, but the position also includes helping the production team on location and making sure projects move smoothly from start to finish.

Because the role involves direct contact with clients, teachers, students, and senior leaders, the right person will need to be polished, confident, and comfortable communicating professionally.

This opportunity may suit a recent graduate, an early-career creative, a freelancer between assignments, or someone keen to build practical experience across the full production process.

Responsibilities

  • Edit video content for schools, colleges, universities, and other education brands.
  • Create short-form video tailored to Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Support the production crew on location during filming days.
  • Assist camera operators and producers while shoots are underway.
  • Help organise kit and get equipment ready before filming.
  • Keep project folders, files, and media assets well organised.
  • Assemble rough edits and improve them using feedback from the team.
  • Export content and prepare final files for different platforms.
  • Work with the wider team to deliver projects on schedule and to a strong standard.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is at the start of their content creation journey and wants to learn, contribute, and work well with others. You do not need to know everything already; the team is looking for someone dependable, curious, organised, and ready to jump in wherever needed.

Whether the task is editing footage, carrying equipment, supporting a camera setup, or helping a project reach delivery, the key is to take initiative and get things done.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of paid experience in digital content creation, video editing, or production support.
  • Practical working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Strong ability to stay organised and pay close attention to detail.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication, plus strong interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence dealing with clients and representing the company in a professional way.
  • A positive, coachable attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Comfort working both independently and collaboratively.

Desirable Experience

  • Hands-on experience filming content.
  • Familiarity with Adobe After Effects.
  • Skills in motion graphics or animation.
  • Experience producing content for social media channels.
  • Interest in education, marketing, or brand storytelling.

Application Requirements

Applicants should submit a CV along with a portfolio, showreel, or examples of previous work. The hiring team is most interested in attitude, potential, and the quality of your output rather than where you have worked. Experience from agencies, freelance projects, university work, or personal projects is all welcome.

Applications that do not include a portfolio, showreel, or work samples will not be considered.

Additional Information

This is a fixed-term 2-month contract. The role is based in the London area, with attendance required in the Hackney office three days per week and remote working for two days per week. The position is full-time and begins immediately.

Leave it if you'd like a reply — we won't use it for anything else.
