About Valentino

Working at Maison Valentino offers the opportunity to develop in an environment where commercial goals and creativity come together. The company emphasizes an inclusive, open-minded culture and a colleague-focused approach, where each team member plays an important role in delivering work with care, originality, and strong execution.

Role Overview

The company is seeking a Junior Account Executive with wholesale experience in women’s footwear and accessories. This person will manage independent accounts, support the Senior Sales Manager and the broader wholesale team, help drive sales performance, review and interpret sales data, run product knowledge sessions, and provide high-quality customer support. The role also includes order administration, market preparation, and sample management. Travel of 20% to 30% may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with specialty wholesale customers while assisting with major and department store accounts.
  • Coordinate market preparation by setting appointments, presenting collections, and handling orders and swaps.
  • Compile weekly selling reports, collect performance data, and share findings with leadership and corporate headquarters in Italy.
  • Review market trends and competitor activity, then work with the Senior Sales Manager on sales-target strategies that support stronger profitability.
  • Oversee account inventory for replenishment and help reduce leftover stock at season end.
  • Monitor sales activity to identify opportunities for additional re-orders.
  • Manage account orders and order progress, including shipping reports, allocation documents, and EDI worksheets in coordination with Customer Service.
  • Keep line sheets, exit lists, buy books, stock lists, and account recaps up to date.
  • Support product delivery analysis, replenishment planning, and purchase-order activity.
  • Lead product knowledge clinics across domestic independent and major accounts each season to explain new products, design direction, trends, and value.
  • Organize sample requests needed for product knowledge training.
  • Be available for possible international travel to present collections to clients in the Milan and Paris showrooms when required.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred, though it is not mandatory.
  • At least 1 to 3 years of experience in a wholesale setting.
  • Working knowledge of sales fundamentals.
  • Strong ability in retail math and data analysis.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Solid critical-thinking ability and relationship-building skills.
  • Confident public speaking skills along with strong interpersonal communication.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, including 20% to 30% travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with SAP is an advantage.

Compensation

The expected base salary for this position is between $60,000 and $70,000, depending on experience and subject to change.
