Role Overview

Valen Management is hiring a Junior MEP Planning Engineer to support project planning and scheduling activities for construction and MEP works in Doha, Qatar. The role focuses on maintaining accurate schedules, tracking progress, coordinating with project stakeholders, and preparing planning-related reports and documentation.

Educational Background

The role calls for a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering from a recognized university.

Certifications and Training

Training or certification in Primavera P6 is preferred. A PMP or Planning & Scheduling certification will be considered an added advantage. Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System principles is also preferable.

Experience Needed

Candidates should bring 2 to 5 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably within construction or MEP projects. Prior GCC exposure, especially in the UAE, is an advantage. A working understanding of project execution, procurement tracking, and construction sequencing for MEP systems is also important.

Technical Skills

Strong command of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project is required. The position also expects advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Familiarity with AutoCAD drawings and construction sequencing is needed, while experience with Power BI or reporting dashboards is a plus.

Key Duties

The role involves assisting with baseline schedule preparation and updates, tracking project progress across engineering, procurement, and construction phases, and supporting schedule recovery and completion planning. The engineer will also help gather progress data, maintain reporting records, and support project coordination efforts.

Additional Responsibilities

This position includes monitoring procurement milestones for long-lead items, coordinating with QA/QC and construction teams on inspection and testing activities, participating in project meetings, and preparing presentations and planning reports. It also covers support for EOT documentation, delay analysis, subcontractor schedule reviews, approvals tracking, schedule risk identification, and mitigation planning.
