Role overview
The company is looking for an early-career Hardware Engineer to support the creation of new electronic circuits, carry out circuit-level analysis, and build clear, detailed schematics. This role also includes preparing design review documentation and working closely with systems, software, hardware, and mechanical colleagues to develop and refine design concepts.
Work location and type
This position is based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada and requires on-site presence.
Key responsibilities
- Develop precise hardware schematics for electronic designs.
- Run circuit analysis work using LTSPICE and PSPICE.
- Design new electronic circuits using appropriate components and equipment, including product prototypes, test interfaces, and test equipment.
- Compile review-ready materials such as block diagrams, schematics, design descriptions, and tolerance analyses for PDR and CDR sessions.
- Partner with software, hardware, and mechanical team members to evaluate ideas and contribute to design development.
Qualifications and experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent qualification is required.
- 0 to 1 year of experience in electronics design is preferred, especially with microcontrollers, microprocessors, memory devices, Ethernet, ADC, SPI, I2C, USB 2.0, RS232, RS422, A429, discrete circuits, and switching power regulators.
- Experience entering schematics in OrCAD is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Hands-on use of LTSPICE and PSPICE is preferred.
- Background in root cause analysis and debugging is an advantage.
- Exposure to embedded C is considered an asset.
- Previous experience in the aerospace sector is a plus.
