Role overview

This role sits at the intersection of copywriting, social content, and entertainment marketing. The person in this position will help shape copy and concepts across campaigns, decks, community content, and client-facing creative, while partnering closely with strategy, design, production, accounts, and editorial teams.

The ideal candidate is highly tuned into social culture, comfortable working with multiple brand voices, and able to turn fresh references into clear, compelling copy. They should be confident sharing ideas with internal teams and clients, while also supporting teammates and contributing to a collaborative, low-ego environment.

This is a contract opportunity running through the end of 2026, with the possibility of becoming permanent. It is a full-time position based in Echo Park, Los Angeles, with two in-office days each week.

Core responsibilities

  • Develop ideas for a wide range of content, from quick-turn reactive posts to more produced social video work.
  • Translate direction from the Social Lead or Creative Director into work that matches campaign goals and creative standards.
  • Join client meetings, present ideas, and act as a creative point of contact between the agency and clients.
  • Write copy for social posts, pitch decks, community responses, and other brand communications as needed.
  • Shape tone of voice for visible campaigns and brand experiences.
  • Collaborate with Creative Production, Strategy, Design, and Editorial teams on scripts, kickoff discussions, and production-ready ideas.
  • Offer strategic creative input and internet-aware language to strengthen the work.
  • Present concepts and copy to clients when required.
  • Work with Account and Strategy teams to support the visual and messaging direction of brand campaigns.
  • Review creative assets before delivery or launch and make final refinements when needed.

Execution and collaboration

  • Work with the Social Lead or Creative Director to understand objectives and help execute the creative plan.
  • Keep communication flowing with creative teammates by sharing references, guidance, and clear steers so work stays on track.
  • Refine copy and design details to keep all deliverables aligned with the brand’s voice and look.
  • Share copy options with clients, respond to feedback quickly, and manage updates through tools such as Slack and Asana.
  • Partner with Strategy to make sure content works well across platforms and connects with the intended audience.

Candidate profile

The successful candidate is expected to bring a strong stream of ideas, a wide range of cultural references, and a sharp understanding of what performs on social platforms. They should be a flexible, upbeat communicator who helps create an open environment for brainstorming and problem-solving.

Experience in entertainment marketing is important, along with comfort supporting high-profile creative work from concept through execution. A strong deck, pitch, and presentation mindset is valuable, as is the ability to speak confidently with clients about their goals and how creative solutions can meet them.

Qualifications

  • 1-3+ years of experience in an agency or in-house studio environment, ideally with branded or marketing content.
  • Strong understanding of 360 campaign creative in entertainment marketing, with a social-first and storytelling-led approach.
  • Excellent narrative and pitch-writing ability, including the ability to help sell ideas in front of clients.
  • Experience balancing multiple brand voices and writing for social content, decks, and highly voice-driven projects.
  • Strong creative judgment and the ability to explain why an idea works.
  • Awareness of current creative culture and the ability to pull useful references from many sources.
  • Comfort shifting between projects of different sizes and complexity.
  • Strong time management and the ability to work under fast, high-volume deadlines.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback well.
  • Familiarity with creative AI tools and workflows is a plus.

Compensation and benefits

The annual salary range for this role is $55,000 to $75,000, depending on experience. Benefits include health insurance, a 401(k), generous vacation, and opportunities for growth within the company.

Employment details

This position is a contract role through the end of 2026, with a chance to transition into a permanent position. The role is hybrid, with two days per week spent in the Echo Park office in Los Angeles.
