Role overview

Medicals International is looking for a Junior Accountant and Operations Officer to support the finance and administration functions with everyday accounting and office coordination work. The position focuses on maintaining accurate records, handling routine bookkeeping activities, and helping ensure that the company’s financial information is organized and reliable. It is well-suited to someone detail-focused who wants to build practical accounting experience in a fast-paced environment.

Bookkeeping and transaction handling

  • Check each daily transaction carefully and confirm that all required supporting papers, such as invoices and receipts, are attached before anything is entered into the system.
  • Record daily financial activity in the relevant accounting software, including expenses, bank deposits, transfers, purchases, and associated shipping charges.
  • Arrange and maintain accounting files together with all related supporting documents.

Financial records and reconciliation

  • Review monthly purchase entries and correct them whenever needed.
  • Post transactions across the different software modules as required.
  • Perform reconciliations for monetary accounts, including bank accounts, petty cash, and transitory/collection accounts.

Reporting and operational support

  • Prepare and send a daily update covering activities completed and results achieved to the supervisor.
  • Suggest practical ways to use resources and manage disbursements more efficiently.
  • Follow and actively support the Medicals International Quality Management System, including compliance with ISO 9001:2008 standards.
  • Take on any other accounting-related duty assigned by the supervisor that supports the overall finance function.

Qualifications and skills

The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline. The role requires 0 to 2 years of experience in accounting or a similar position, along with a solid understanding of core accounting principles and financial rules. Familiarity with accounting systems and Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and Word, is important. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, good organization, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and clear communication skills are also essential.
