Role overview

SSC Services for Education is hiring janitors for immediate openings in school facilities. These roles are available in both full-time and part-time formats, supporting clean, safe, and distraction-free learning spaces for students and staff.

Location

Cleveland City Schools, 850 Raiders Drive, Cleveland, TN 37312. Openings may also be available at other locations within the school district. Applications are accepted online only.

Work schedule

This position offers Monday through Friday schedules, with some weekend work included. Full-time and part-time options are available, and scheduling may be adjusted to match operational needs. Further details will be discussed during the interview.

Compensation

The fixed pay rate for this role is $16.00 per hour.

What the job involves

The janitor is responsible for keeping assigned buildings tidy and orderly. The work includes thorough cleaning duties such as floor care, rug shampooing, wall and glass cleaning, and removal of waste.

Key duties

• Collect and discard trash according to approved procedures and infection-control standards.
• Dust and wet-mop floors using approved methods.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed for proper cleaning, then return items to their original positions.
• Clean assigned spaces with the provided supplies and equipment, including sanitizing surfaces and following the eight-step cleaning process.
• Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other surfaces to help maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Identify areas that need attention and take initiative to complete the cleaning work.
• Complete tasks assigned by the supervisor.
• Follow all applicable federal, state, and county guidelines while performing duties.
• Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors, and shampoo carpets when required.
• Work cooperatively with the team and maintain a professional manner with customers, coworkers, and others.
• Carry out any other duties assigned.

Preferred background

Prior janitorial experience is preferred for this position.
